Young people today are growing up in a world where pornography is easily accessible, and where messages about sex, relationships and intimacy are everywhere. From social media and friends to films and pornography, young people are constantly exposed to ideas that can shape their understanding of sex and relationships.
As churches, we have an important opportunity to help young people navigate these messages, ask questions and develop a healthy understanding of sex, relationships and intimacy within a Christian context. But knowing how to start these conversations isn't always easy, and parents, youth leaders and other trusted adults don't always feel equipped to know what to say.
That's why we're pleased to introduce BrightTrack.
Developed by Naked Truth Project in partnership with The Way, BrightTrack is a free, private and anonymous online resource for young people aged 14+. It brings together expert advice, practical tools and real stories to help young people explore pornography, sex and relationships. No account or email address is needed, and young people can work through it independently and at their own pace.
Supporting conversations through In Your Corner
Young people don't have to explore BrightTrack alone. Its accompanying mentoring tool, In Your Corner, enables a parent, youth leader, mentor or other trusted adult to journey through the resource alongside a young person.
In Your Corner provides guidance and support to help adults engage with the content and have conversations that can sometimes feel difficult or uncomfortable. It offers churches a practical way to support the young people in their communities, helping them feel better equipped to respond to questions and provide a safe space for discussion.
Coming soon: Organisation access for churches
We recognise that churches may want to use In Your Corner with several young people, rather than having individual mentors purchase a separate journey for each person.
We're currently developing organisation access specifically for churches, schools and youth organisations. This will make it easier for churches to use In Your Corner as part of their wider youth work and pastoral support.
We're inviting churches to register their interest now, and we'll be in touch when organisation access becomes available.
